EDUCATIONAL TRIP FOR STD IV TO NEHRU SCIENCE CENTRE, WORLI ON AUGUST 10, 2016

Memories of school Educational trips are among the most prominent of the formative years, largely because they are a welcome break in the routine for the students. Taking students into a new environment gives them the experience of traveling in a group, giving students the chance to build closer bonds with their classmates and enjoy a day away from the classroom.

The students of Std IV were taken to the Nehru Science Centre, Worli on Wednesday, 10th August, 2016. We left school with the students on time filled with enthusiasm and curiosity in our minds. We reached the science centre at the scheduled time in spite of braving with the city’s heavy traffic woes. Some students remarked that they had never seen so much traffic in their lives but at the same time showed a lot of patience and continued to sing and dance in their respective buses.

As soon as we reached the students were taken around the science centre. They saw more than 500 hands-on and interactive science exhibits on energy, sound, kinematics, mechanics, transport installed in the Science Park and different galleries.

Later they were shown a 3D film on global warming and its effects on our planet earth. This was followed by another film titled ‘How weather is forecast.’ – A part of the Science Film Festival that was going on at that time. Then they were taken to the dome theatre where they saw a wonderful film titled ‘Adrenaline Rush – The Science of Risk.’ It proved to be a thrilling experience watching the show.

After the visit to the Science centre we boarded the buses and left for our visit to Kurla Phoenix Market City Mall enroute the famous Bandra –Worli sealink and BKC. The students were excited to see the sea as they had recently studied in Geography about the west coast of India and the Arabian Sea. On reaching the mall they were guided into the famous toy store ‘Hamleys’ which was an enriching experience. They had their lunch at Burger King. They did get to interact with a few youngsters in the mall who were very surprised to find school students in the mall. Few students also could witness the runway on the other side of the mall compound wall where the flights were taking off and landing.

We returned back to school with fond memories. It was great fun and the students thoroughly enjoyed the day.
