Inter-House Debate
The Inter-house Debate was conducted on July 18, 2011. Eight speakers from Std. IX and X were given an hour prior to the debate to prepare on the topic in the Library.

The sealed envelope revealing the topic was opened by the Principal. The speakers on hearing the topic, ‘Technology is taking away the human touch from our lives’ found that they could relate to the topic extremely well.

Both the teams browsed through the books in the magazine and mulled over the positives and the negatives of technology. They highlighted on various areas where in google has made our lives comfortable, and the opposition waxed eloquent on how incessant use of technology has denied humans of the human touch. Every speaker spoke with conviction in a very authoritative manner bringing to a fruitful conclusion not only the debate but also the realization that the children could be exposed to the Debate styled on the Frank Anthony Format.

The two speakers who were the HFS team who represented HFS at Pune, Natasha Kavalakatt and Nihar Vete spoke eloquently but the Best Speaker. Kenneth Martin managed to convince the audience that technology is not only an integral part of life, but has come to stay, and it is us humans who should ensure that we preserve are humanness and keep it intact. The debate originally scheduled for July 1, 2011 had to be re-scheduled for July 20, 2011 to enable the children to get an exposure with the assembly one minute speeches to have better stage presence.
